The Famas of old joined the fun of MW2 with Season 5, boasting a strong fire-rate and excellent mid-range performance. But what are the best loadouts for the FR Avancer in Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone?

Best Warzone Build

When Season 5 first dropped, we based our picks off what we expected from the Avancer. We’ve now had ample time to get hands on with the AR and there’s two main issues. The first is the default 25 Round Mags and the second is its recoil. A gun that fires as rapidly as the FR Avancer was always bound to kick, but 25 shots is nowhere near enough.

That’s why our first attachment is the 60 Round Magazine, giving you nearly 2.5x the capacity of the base mag. It means that multiple enemies can be taken down rapidly and the need to reload is massively reduced.

Next up is the Lockgrip Precision-40 and Corvus Slash Gen. 2 muzzle, both of which provide major boosts to recoil control. There is some penalty to ADS and sprint-to-fire speeds. However, in Warzone’s larger open spaces, managing the Avancer’s recoil is crucial to using it successfully.

We’ve also thrown the Cronen Mini Pro optic on. It’s easily the best for closer and mid-range gunfights. If you want to up it to the VLK 4.0x or something similar then be our guest. Optics are a case of preference and we recommend one for the Avancer because of its mediocre iron sights.

  • Magazine: 60 Round Mag
  • Underbarrel: Lockgrip Precision-40
  • Muzzle: Corvus Slash Gen. 2
  • Stock: FR Sprinter
  • Optic: Cronen Mini Pro

We’re rounding off our BR build with the FR Sprinter stock. This combats the slower ADS caused by the recoil stabilizing attachments, giving you snappier aim alongside a boost to sprint speed. It’s a solid all round build, minimizing the weapon’s weaknesses and looking to augment its strengths.

Best MW2 Loadout

In Modern Warfare 2, there’s no need to slow the Avancer to the same degree. There’s still some emphasis on recoil control but, because the average gunfight in MW2 is at a shorter range than in Warzone, players won’t need to rely on accuracy to the same degree.

We are carrying over the extended mag (but decreasing it to the 45 Round Mag). This still nearly doubles the FR Avancer magazine capacity without slowing the AR to the same degree. The Cronen Mini Pro also makes the jump over. It’s true that the iron sights aren’t as much of a hindrance in MW2. Even so, we’re opting for the optic to make hitting shots as easy as possible.

It’s all change elsewhere. The FR Sprinter makes its way out for the WMG-TAC, mainly because we’re looking to speed up the FR Avancer even more.

  • Magazine: 45 Round Mag
  • Underbarrel: Schlager Tango
  • Optic: Cronen Mini Pro
  • Stock: WMG-TAC
  • Rear Grip: RMT Grip

Finally, we’re opting for the Schlager Tango and 395mm FR Minibore. The former is essentially a quicker version of the Lockgrip, while the Minibore speeds up your Avancer and makes it ideal for maps like Shoot House and Shipment

How To Unlock the FR Avancer

It’s really simple to unlock the FR Avancer in Warzone and MW2. It’s a Battle Pass weapon, meaning players need only purchase the new Season 5 Pass and unlock Sector E8. This is done by playing any mode and earning Battle Pass tokens for your time.

You can also purchase a bundle that includes the FR Avancer but, given it’s so easy to unlock without the added expense, we’d recommend just getting it via the BP, unless there’s a blueprint of it you really want!

Remember, whichever game or mode you’ve played to unlock it; it’ll be unlocked across all games and modes. Unlocking it in MW2 lets you use it in Warzone, and vice versa.

Those are the best FR Avancer loadouts for MW2 and Warzone. For everything else Season 5, including official patch notes and the fallout, stay with us right here at Twinfinite.
