Season 5 Reloaded is upon Warzone players, meaning the SMGs that rule the roost have changed yet again. Here, we’re ranking the top five.
There were an incredible number of weapon changes in August 30’s Season 5 Reloaded, many of which were unexpected. A lot only related to Modern Warfare 2 but many targeted weapons in the battle royale specifically.
Those changes have translated to our rankings, with the Lachmann Sub making its way back into the top three and some surprise picks making the cut. Here are the best five SMGs in Warzone, ranked:
5) BAS-P
The BAS-P has been on the receiving end of plenty of buffs in recent seasons, finding itself strengthened again with Season 5 Reloaded. It saw a number of its damage multipliers increased, essentially meaning it’ll deal more damage provided you land your shots.
The recoil remains slightly problematic but it can be tempered with some sensible attachments (like the Schlager Tango underbarrel). Other than that, run-and-gun to your heart’s content with our build below:

4) PDSW 528
Another returnee to this list, the PDSW 528 has long flown under the radar in terms of its power. There’s also the added bonus of having 50 round magazines by default, ensuring you can invest another attachment into improving its performance.

3) Lachmann Sub
We did remove the Lachmann Sub from the top three before S5R but it continues to impress with incredible damage. It’s high fire-rate and snappy ADS still remain, with recoil control and range its only real issues.
It remains a fan favorite, probably because of its iron sights and nostalgia for the dominant MP5s of old. Either way, your best build is detailed below:

2) ISO 45
The ISO 45 continues to defy its Season 4 nerf and remains one of the fastest killing guns at close-ranges. It boasts a strong fire-rate, snappy handling and strong mobility, all valuable characteristics in a SMG.
We’ve pushed it up to second spot as nerfs to competitors strengthen its grip on the weapon class. It could even close in on first depending on how the latter parts of Season 5 progress:

1) VEL 46
The VEL 46, perhaps better known as the MP7, struggled to find its footing in Warzone’s earlier seasons. A fast fire-rate and strong mobility were negated by mediocre damage. However, multiple damage buffs have seen it grow in viability to the point of being the very best close-range weapon in the battle royale.
It still struggles at longer ranges, explaining why our chosen attachments augment its range and accuracy. However, up close, there’s no SMG that drops enemies faster, especially considering the strengthening it had with Season 5:
